Munduk Jati, Pendem, Jembrana

Our village is located in West Bali, where traditional rural life, including rice farming, remains the primary livelihood for many. Daily life in the village revolves around routine tasks and numerous ceremonies. These ceremonies are held during different stages of the farming cycle, for family events, in memory of ancestors, and to honor Hindu gods. Rarely does a week pass without the sound of gamelan music or the chanting of a priest from somewhere in the village.

Visitors can, by prior arrangement, attend many of these ceremonies with a local guide for a unique cultural experience.

Negara Town

Negara town, with its services and amenities, is just over five kilometers away, about a 10-minute drive. The town offers all essential services, including shops, restaurants, and, if needed, a doctor and hospital.

One of the town’s highlights is the magnificent Jaganatha Temple, located along the main road. Its park is open for visitors to explore freely. The temple grounds also feature an amphitheater, which occasionally hosts concerts and other festive events.

To the Beach or River

Beach life in West Bali is tranquil. Along the coast, you’ll find secluded, dark-sand beaches, though many are not suitable for small children due to strong currents and large waves. However, they provide an excellent environment for surfers and experienced swimmers to enjoy a peaceful or active day by the sea, free from beach vendors.

For those who love waves, Delod Berawah Beach, just outside the town, is a pleasant swimming spot about a 15-minute drive from the villas. Rening Bay, another local favorite, is also about 15 minutes away, offering a scenic drive through charming village landscapes. River Gelar or Batu Belar waterfall offer refreshing swimming experiences on a hot day.

Please note that these beaches do not have regular cleaning, so you may encounter ocean debris and remnants of offerings along the shoreline. Changing rooms and restrooms are very basic at these local beaches.
